This is when the new 'concept' Shoe Zone store will open in Swansea's old Next and what we can expect

Shoe Zone will officially open its new store in the former home of Next in Swansea city centre next month. Workmen have been spotted revamping the shop, based at 266-267 Oxford Street, with the footwear business relocating from its current base in Union Street to the empty unit.

It will officially open on March 4 and has said it will offer a wide range of affordable styles and brands, opening its doors with huge savings and opening offers. It will be open for customers from 9am until 6pm, Monday to Saturday, and 10.30am until 4.30pm on Sundays. A larger premises than the existing Shoe Zone, it will open with an extra 20% off sale.

Described as a new 'concept store', it will combine a selection of its own brands with a huge range of name-brands popular with online shoppers, such as Rieker, Lotus, Heavenly Feet, Jana Softline, S' Oliver, and Lunar. Three new positions will also be created, in addition to existing staff. Get Swansea stories straight to your inbox with our newsletter.

Shoe Zone chief executive Anthony Smith said: "We’re looking forward to opening this new Shoe Zone store in Swansea, widening the selection of styles for our customers and making both branded and our own brand styles more easily accessible to them.”

And owner of Heavenly Feet, Ken Gray added: "We're thrilled to be a brand that Shoe Zone is stocking at its new Swansea store as it opens this week. This opening will support the continued growth of Swansea’s high-street and address consumer demand for choice as well as value. Across the market, shoppers are looking for quality as well as affordability, and that's something we're really proud to offer thanks to partnerships with our retailers like Shoe Zone."
