The Ivy has announced when its new restaurant will open in Cardiff .

The world famous restaurant group has been working to open a restaurant in Cardiff at the former Jamie's Italian on The Hayes.

The Ivy said the restaurant will open on Monday, November 18.

To announce the opening date the restaurant installed a huge display of daffodils complete with giant letters spelling out the restaurant's name.

Reservations for the restaurant are now open.

The 260-seat restaurant is company's first in Wales and will be open seven days a week from morning until night.

It will serve modern British food, including breakfast, coffees, elevenses, weekend brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and cocktails.

Inside guests will see artwork curated and inspired by Welsh landscapes and pieces recognising Cardiff's history.

The Ivy Collection's managing director Baton Berisha said: “From today, we are taking reservations and our team, under general manager Joshua Butler, are looking forward to welcoming their first guests.

The world famous group first revealed an interest in coming to the capital in 2017, but  shelved the plans months later  .

In May it was revealed that The Ivy was planning to open at the former Moss Bros store on the Hayes, but they later announced plans to open at the former Jamie's Italian after the famous chef's restaurant chain went into administration.
