When the sun is shining you could make the almost two hour journey to Skegness but if you're looking for something slightly closer to home this could be the answer.
You'll soon be able to enjoy a day at the beach in our nearby county of Rutland, when Rutland Water beach opens for the summer, Leicestershire Live reports.

Where is the beach?
The beach is located on Rutland Water’s North Shore. The nearest car park is Sykes Lane Car Park (LE15 8QL). During busy times, an overflow car park will be in use.
How big is it?
Rutland Water beach provides 140 metres of sandy shoreline and a 2,800m area for you to paddle and swim in.
When is it open?
The bathing area will open weekdays 1pm - 5pm and weekends 10am - 6pm from Saturday, June 29 until Sunday, July 14.
It will then be open daily 10am - 6pm from Monday, July 15 until Sunday, September 1.
All times are dependent on the weather, so make sure you check the Facebook page before travelling.
Who can visit the beach?
Everyone! Except dogs. There are plenty of other dog-friendly locations at Rutland Water for your pooch to enjoy, though.
How much does it cost to visit?
There's no cost to visit the beach itself, but entry to the car park costs £8.00 all day during off-peak times, and £10.00 per car before 3pm, £5.00 per car after 3pm during peak times (last entry 5pm).
Peak and off-peak times are dependent on weather.
What else is there nearby?
Also at Sykes Lane, you'll find mini golf, Bugtopia the zoo, a children's adventure play area, Four Foxes Cafe, and the Rutland Water Visitor Centre.
