This is when Bristol Aquarium will reopen

Bosses at Bristol Aquarium have announced the much-loved attraction will throw open its doors next month.

It was closed at the end of March due to the coronavirus outbreak but on Tuesday, June 23 Prime Minister Boris Johnson approved plans for the majority of entertainment venues to re-open.

This means visitors will be welcomed back to Bristol's aquarium from Saturday, July 4, however strict new rules will be in place.

These include one-way routes, extra hand washing facilities and people asked not to visit if they feel unwell.

In a statement posted on the aquarium's website, a spokesperson said: "The team at Bristol Aquarium are working hard behind the scenes to get ready to safely re-open our doors under new strict COVID-19 health and safety procedures.

"Safety is our highest priority, and we are meticulously reviewing your journey around the aquarium to minimise risk without compromising our unique underwater experience.

"While we have worked hard to put these safety measures in place, we all need one another to adhere to our guidelines.

"If you’re planning to visit Bristol Aquarium when we re-open please take a moment to read through our customer charter. "
