This is when all the big Christmas 2019 events are happening in Swansea

The dates for all the big Christmas events in  Swansea  for 2019 have now been announced.

Which means you can now start to look forward to the festive period.

There's a lot of exciting things happening in the city this year from the highly anticipated parade to the return of Waterfront Winterland.

Here are the dates that you have to put in your diary.

Christmas Parade

When: From 5-7pm on Sunday, November 17

Where: The parade route will be from the Dylan Thomas centre, up Wind Street, Castle Street and High Street, into Alexandra Road, down Orchard Street and along The Kingsway.

Local drama and dance groups are among those being urged to dress up and entertain thousands of spectators.

They will join a wide range of other participants for the free event, including local bands, organisations with eye-catching floats, professional entertainers – and Santa.

Waterfront Winterland

When: Friday November 15-Sunday January 5

Where:  Museum Park, in the grounds of Swansea's National Waterfront Museum.

It wouldn't be Christmas without Waterfront Winterland.

The city's main festive attraction will be back this year.

As well as the city centre ice rink, Waterfront Winterland features fairground rides, food stalls and a bar.

Christmas market

 

The Christmas market will also be back (Phil Rees)

When: Friday November 15-Sunday December 22

Where:  Oxford Street

The Christmas market is making a welcome return to Oxford Street, where you’ll find more than 40 traders offering a selection of arts, crafts, decorations, gifts and food.

Swansea Winter Wonderland/Gower Fresh Christmas Tree Farm

Gower Fresh Christmas Tree Farm is also the home of Father Christmas and his reindeers (www.adrianwhitephotography.co.uk)

 

When: From Friday November 22

Where:  Poundffald Farm, Three Crosses

Gower Fresh Christmas Tree Farm is also the home of Father Christmas and his reindeers. Inside the grotto there will be polar bears and elves. Children can also meet and greet Santa, write a letter with him as well as receive a Christmas present.

Christmas panto

When: Friday December 13- Sunday January 12

Where: Swansea Grand

This year's pantomime will be the high-flying pirate adventure, Peter Pan starring Kevin Johns as Mrs Smee.
