This is what Nottingham Forest have said about rescheduling postponed Reading match

Nottingham Forest say that the date for their rearranged Sky Bet Championship fixture with Reading will be confirmed “in due course”.

The Reds were due to host the Royals on Trentside in their next league match on Saturday afternoon, but heavy rain has meant that the contest will need to be rearranged.

A pitch inspection took place at 12pm and the decision was taken for the match to be postponed until a further date.

Details about ticket refunds and eligibility for the rearranged fixture are yet to be announced by the club.

But Forest have said that the date for the rearranged fixture will be confirmed “in due course”.

“This afternoon's match between #NFFC and @ReadingFC has been postponed,” the club said in a tweet.

“Heavy rain overnight has left large areas of the pitch in an unplayable condition and the referee has taken the decision to call the game off.

“A re-arranged date will be confirmed in due course.”

Prior to today’s originally scheduled match, Forest had suffered back-to-back defeats to Wigan Athletic and Hull City, and have dropped to eighth place in the Championship table.

The Reds will now prepare for an away trip to Luton Town at Kenilworth Road next weekend in their next scheduled clash in the Championship.
