A huge majority of ECHO readers are unhappy with Liverpool Council's new green waste charge - with a large amount planning to give up their green bin altogether.
The city council voted last week to introduce a new £40 annual charge for any residents wishing to have their green waste bins collected as part of efforts to raise funds to offset more budget cuts.
But the move has not gone down well publicly - and was one of the reasons why seven Labour councillors decided to break the whip and vote against the budget plans.

The new charge will come in from Monday April 18, with people able to make payments on the council's website from March 7.
Liverpool Council's social media accounts have come under fire in recent days from disgruntled residents who are unhappy with the new charge.
We decided to run a survey to find out how ECHO readers feel about the new green waste collection fee.
It may not come as a surprise that an overwhelming majority (94%) of the nearly 500 readers who answered our survey said they were against the new charge.
A sizeable majority of respondents (72%) said the new charge will make them give up their green waste bin altogether .
We asked people to describe how they felt about the new charge, with responses ranging from 'disgusting' to 'ridiculous' and with several people suggesting they pay enough in Council Tax already.
The survey then asked people what they felt would be viable alternatives for raising council funds instead of the new charge.
The most popular answers included pay cuts for councillors and staff, spending the budget more wisely and refusing to pay a controversial 50% pay increase for government commissioners currently installed at the council.
Some of those answering had some sympathy for the council, with one stating: "It's under £1 a week, people have the choice to use it or not - the council can only do so much with what they receive."
Another added: "I think its is reasonable, I wish we all recycled food waste in the green bins as well."
Unfortunately for the council, these opinions were in the minority of those responding to our survey.
