This is what Chelsea are planning for when they face Nottingham Forest in FA Cup

Chelsea will wear a special anniversary shirt for their FA Cup third round tie with Nottingham Forest next month.

The Blues are celebrating 50 years since their 1970 cup triumph over Leeds United by wearing a fresh take on the kit worn at Wembley, after Nike opted to commemorate the occasion.

It’s the second time in as many years that Forest have been paired with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the third round of the world’s oldest competition, and the hosts will don their unique strip for the game against Sabri Lamouchi's Championship play-off hopefuls.

“It’s a classy, stylish and sophisticated shirt — a great way of remembering the iconic team of 1970," according to midfielder and former Derby County loanee Mason Mount.

“We know fans of all ages are going to love its simple design.”

The 1970 final against their old foes Leeds ended in a 2-2 draw at Wembley, and there was to be no winner found at the end of extra time.

In those days, replays were used to decide who would lift the trophy and in the Old Trafford replay, Peter Osgood sent it into extra time, before David Webb netted the winner.

Nike’s take on the 1970 classic features the club’s famous gold lion badge and all current advertising, but the logos have been matched with the kit’s colour to blend in.
