This is what £20,000 worth of Spice looks like

Police recovered a massive haul of suspected Spice worth £20,000 when they carried out a raid in Tameside .

GMP City Centre posted a photo on Facebook of two large bags full of the synthetic cannabis.

The drugs were seized by officers from the intelligence development team and Operation Giggs.

They carried out the raid as part of an investigation into the supply of Spice in Manchester city centre .

One man has been arrested, GMP said.

The message, posted by city centre Inspector Jon Middleton at 3.45pm on Tuesday, said: "Officers from our Intelligence Development & Op Giggs teams executed a search warrant at an address in the Tameside area today in relation to supply of Spice in Manchester city centre.

"1 man arrested and these bags of what is suspected to be Spice have been recovered with an estimated street value of £20,000."

Social media users praised the team for getting the drugs off the streets.

Commenting on the post, one Facebook user said: "Great catch, well done Inspector Middleton!!"

And another added: "Well done GMP."

The M.E.N reported in December how police believe they are closing the net on Spice dealers , with a string of arrests as part of Operation Gigg, which was launched in October 2018.
