This is the woman from North Somerset who avoided jail and was given a suspended sentence for attacking a homeless man after he .
Briggette Saunders turned on the man, who was sleeping rough outside the entrance to Waitrose in Nailsea, when he said he didn't want her chips, or vodka.
She became such a problem for the man that he pointed her out to police, and that's when she jabbed a knife at him and threatened him.
Bristol Crown Court heard Saunders, 36, pleaded guilty to threatening behaviour and assault in August last year after an incident in Nailsea High Street.
Saunders saw a man who was homeless called Steven Higgins in the doorway of Waitrose in Nailsea , and offered him chips.
But after he said no, she became agitated and he mentioned her to the police, the court heard.
Though she was warned that her gesture was nice but unwanted, she later accused Mr Higgins of being a ‘police grass’ and lunged a blade at him.
Saunders, of Clevedon Road in Nailsea, had her sentence deferred to Friday, September 27 by the Recorder of Bristol, His Honour Judge Peter Blair QC, telling Saunders to engage with mental health services.
At Julian Howells, prosecuting, said Saunders gave Mr Higgins a box of chips, telling him ‘people like him’ shouldn't be sat where he was.
She later returned with a bottle of vodka and more chips, and when he again said ‘no thanks’ she became agitated and threatened to kill him.
He spoke to police and police spoke to Saunders, the court heard.
Later Saunders was holding a steak knife when she went ‘nose to nose’ with Mr Higgins, saying: "I'm going to kill you, you're a police grass," Mr Howells said.
She was seen to lunge at him with the blade some four times but he managed to dodge her.
Police found her with a cut hand and, at Patchway custody suite, she flung out her arm and caught custody officer Jennifer Eaton in her right eye.
Farah Rashid, defending, said her client suffered from mental health and physical difficulties.
Judge Blair jailed Saunders for ten months, suspended for 12 months, and ordered her to complete 25 days of rehabilitation.
But Briggette Saunders could well end up in prison if she commits more crime or doesn’t complete those 25 days of rehabilitation.
