This is the weather forecast for Elton John's gig in Cardiff this Saturday

Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me sang in 1974.

And it's a sentiment shared by fans heading off to see the music legend bring his Farewell Yellow Brock Road tour to Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday, June 15 .

Because, with no retractable roof to close - unlike at the nearby Principality Stadium - the 33,000 sold-out crowd could face the prospect of getting soaked should the rainy precedent already set this June continue into the weekend.

And it would seem the outlook isn't too good at the moment.

According to the five-day forecast, Saturday looks set to be largely overcast across the Welsh capital, with light rain showers beginning in the early afternoon and persisting until the early hours of Sunday.

However, the flamboyant star - whose biopic Rocketman, starring Welsh actor Taron Egerton , was recently released to rave reviews - is unlikely to let a bit of drizzle dampen his fuse for what promises to be a spectacular show.

One of only two UK dates, the other being Hove in Sussex, the tour has been going since September 2018 and will be Sir Elton's last before retiring from live performances altogether.

Doors for the show open at 5pm and Sir Elton will be on stage at approximately 7.20pm.
