Walkers have been warned to take care at a popular Bury beauty spot, with live shooting drills set to take place.
People visiting Holcombe Moor, and those that live in the area, might hear the sound of gunshots echoing across the hills today (Thursday, November 4).
This is because the Defence Infrastructure Organisation - part of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) - is hosting live firing exercises on the hillside.

Live firing times at the Holcombe Moor Training Centre today will be between 7am and 11.30pm.
In a notice, a spokesperson for the MoD warned: "The red flags by day and the red lamp by night indicate that the range is active and live firing is taking place.
"The range danger area is strictly OUT OF BOUNDS to the public on these occasions.
"The public have access the the public rights of way on the remainder of the training area at all times, but should be aware that Dry Training may be in progress with blank and pyrotechnic ammunition.
"Do not attempt to touch or remove anything from Holcombe Moor Training Area - it may be dangerous."
The Holcombe Moor Training Area is part of the MoD's North West Defence Training Estate.
It has been used since it was first built in the 1940s.
Territorial Army and Cadet units use the area to train at weekends and Army regulars take part in low-level tactical and live fire training there during the week.
