This is the player Nottingham Forest's Joe Lolley thinks is the best in the Championship

Joe Lolley has had an impressive season for Nottingham Forest, scoring 11 times for the club he joined in January last year.

Despite Lolley's great form this term, it wasn't enough to be selected in the PFA Team of the Year which was announced during the week, much to the dismay of both the 26-year-old and Forest's supporters.

However, there has been one man which has dominated various Teams of the Year this season, somewhat upstaging the performances of Lolley, and that's Aston Villa's Jack Grealish.

Lolley has branded the 23-year-old former Notts County loanee as the best in the Championship, and suggested he should be in Gareth Southgate's England squad after revealing Grealish got his vote.

Grealish has been in sensational form for Dean Smith's Villa, who have thrust themselves right into promotion contention courtesy of 10 straight wins, and the mercurial talent has been at the heart of it scoring six times and racking up as many assists.

Speaking to fans on Twitter about his omission, Lolley said: “For me, he’s the best player in the division by a distance, should be playing for England.”

Despite missing three months of the campaign through injury, captain Grealish returned to Villa's squad to lead them to the play-offs and what they hope will be a place in the play-off final, going a step further than last term when they lost to Fulham.

The Birmingham-born star was named in the PFA Championship Team of the Year alongside teammate Tammy Abraham, who netted four times in the stunning 5-5 draw with Forest at the end of November.

On that remarkable evening, Lolley scored a cracker, while creating the other four goals which were scored by Matty Cash and Joao Carvalho with a brace for ex-Villa man Lewis Grabban.
