This is the new face of the Steven Brown Art empire

This is the face of the serial entrepreneur now running the McCoo art empire.

David Cordy,42, has taken control of the key assets of Steven Brown Art.

He’s currently the director of 16 live companies and ran another three - two now dissolved and one he resigned from.

Cordy is the sole director of all but three of the firms.

Ten of them were formed in the past eight months alone.

His companies all have an address within a Georgian building in Derby which acts as a virtual office or rents serviced space to multiple firms.

Cordy refused to do a direct intervew with the Post, saying: “There’s no comment at this stage.

“I will get my marketing director to give you a call.”

His social media profile says that after a string of successful businesses and projects, he is looking to purchase or invest in suitable companies.

It adds: “You may be looking to retire, or to take a less hands on involvement in the day to day running. You may not have considered selling, but I always think its best to explore all options and I am a firm believer in the nothing ventured philosophy.”

Cordy bought the rights to the McCoo brand just days before Ayr-based Steven Brown Art collapsed owing thousands and putting 21 staff out of a job.

Cordy’s team say that as he has “many

companies to run, his time is very precious.”

In a statement he said: “I’m delighted to have been given the opportunity to work with Steven, the Steven Brown Art brand and his iconic art.

“I have invested in many brands in the past, especially those which I perceive to have a bright and interesting future.

“Steven Brown Art was certainly one of those, and whilst I am a Director of DGD Trading Ltd, the brand’s new owner, the day to day running of the company is handled by a small team of experts.”

It added: “Steven has been given the opportunity to continue doing what he loves, bringing his colourful, iconic art to his adoring fans.

“As Brand Ambassador, he will represent the business’s creative side – you’ll see him in the newly re-opened Ayr store and even perhaps popping up all over the country as our exciting investment plans come to fruition.

“The people of Ayr have made us what we are today – we’re proud of our community roots, and we look forward to growing these relationships in the months to come.”
