Hero lifesavers drag person from Liffey in daring river rescue near Guinness Brewery

This is the moment hero lifesavers from the Dublin Fire Brigade rescued a person who fell into the Liffey near the Guinness Brewery.

The DFB posted a photo of the moment two hero fire fighters managed to pull the person onto their small dinghy at Victoria Quay.

Traffic along the south quays was held up while the successful rescue mission was taking place.

However, in the past few minutes AA Roadwatch tweeted that all lanes along that stretch of road had reported.

The image shows the stricken member of the public being hauled onto the small boat by two brave fire fighters.

The Dublin Fire Brigade said in a tweet: "We're just finishing up at a river rescue on Victoria Quay, lanes temporarily blocked. One person rescued from river Liffey by our shallow water boat.

"Firefighters from HQ & Dolphins Barn stations on scene."
