This is the latest in the season LeBron’s team has been under .500 since 2004

LeBron James hasn’t been in this position in a very long time. While he doesn’t sound too stressed about the potential of missing the playoffs and he’s about to go on a nice pre-All-Star Game vacation, the reality that James is facing uglier than any he’s faced recently in his career.

Statistician Micah Adams noted after Tuesday’s loss to the Atlanta Hawks, which sent the Lakers to 28-29, made this the latest point in the season that a LeBron team has been below .500 since his rookie year.

In that season, James did not make the playoffs and didn’t get to the postseason until 2006. James has been here before but it has been a long time since then.

While it would be fair to compare the Lakers situation right now to the situations of his Cavs teams in the past few seasons, the season outlook for LeBron’s team is as bleak as it’s ever been before in his career.
