New Balance have made another instant classic Liverpool kit after the unveiling of the 2019/20 strip .
But Liverpool's current kit manufacturers had some inspiration from the past, with next season's pinstripe design paying tribute to an iconic kit from the eighties.
Indeed, Bob Paisley's Liverpool lifted their fourteenth League title wearing the gold pinstripes.
The Reds celebrated a double that season, also lifting the League Cup.
The kit itself is dedicated to Liverpool's most decorated manager and the shirt is a special tribute in the year in which he would have turned 100.
Each jersey has been inscribed with Paisley’s signature on the inside of the neck. It is on sale in the Liverpool FC store now.
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson said: “This year’s home kit is incredibly strong. I’m really looking forward to wearing it every time we play at our beloved home of Anfield, as a symbol of the pride and passion you have when you’re a Red.
"It’s also a really fitting tribute to one of our greatest managers, Bob Paisley, and is a fantastic way to remember all his success."
Legends such as Kenny Dalglish, Ian Rush, Graeme Souness, Phil Neal and Alan Hansen all donned the gold stripes during a trophy-laden period for the Reds.
The Reds would go on to win a treble under Joe Fagan, also wearing pinstripes, the following season.
If Jurgen Klopp and his team recreate just a fraction of the success achieved during a glittering era for Liverpool wearing the new 2019/20 home kit, this one is sure to go down in Liverpool history as another classic.
