This is the easiest and most affordable design upgrade I've made this year – I can no longer gatekeep Anthropologie's chic switch plates

Dark green kitchen with wooden countertop and wooden scalloped range cooker hood with large windows and green pendant light.

When it comes to refreshing my home, I can often fall into the trap of focusing on the big ticket, big impact changes – new wall colors, furniture, or rugs.

But recently, I've learned to sweat the small stuff and have found one of the most surprisingly effective (and affordable) ways to make your home more unique, thanks to Anthropologie's utterly chic electrical plate covers.

From scalloped edges to playful plaid prints, this tiny detail is the easiest way to make your sockets and switches look nicer. And it's also one of the quickest DIYs I've ever done.

Switch and socket covers are one of those tiny details you often overlook in your home. However, I'm a big believer in elevating those small items that you come into contact with every day – like flatware, towels, and of course: electronics.

These tiny details have the power to completely shift the mood of a room, without the cost or commitment of a full renovation.

And by swapping out your electrical plates for something that sparks joy every time you switch on the light, you're creating a design moment in a subtle, yet impactful way.

The best part? It’s a quick, renter-friendly, and budget-conscious design hack. And since they’re easy to install and swap out, you can easily switch them seasonally or whenever your scheme changes.

But don't just take my word for it. The reviews are in, with the Wiggle Switch Plate (seen above) racking up 322 positive comments. One shopper says: 'Started with 3, kept on buying! These are great – what an upgrade to contractor-grade switch plates! I thought I was just going to use them in a single room, but once they were here, I kept buying them to outfit other rooms.'

Another reviewer adds: 'For such a small item, they pack a big decor punch!'

Whether you lean toward vintage-inspired designs, playful scallops, or timeless finishes, Anthropologie’s new drop has a style to suit every home.

Shop Anthropologie's unique switch and socket plates

Switch and socket plates may be small, but with Anthropologie’s new designs, they bring a big dose of personality to your utilitarian spaces and are one of those small kitchen details that will make a big difference, like fancy hardware or tile. In softer rooms, they help to reaffirm your carefully curated scheme and can even be a fun way to dip your toe into pattern drenching, too, if you shop wisely.
