This was the aftermath of a police chase which ended in Firswood.
A silver car was left badly damaged and debris was strewn over the road following the incident earlier this afternoon.
Police said that a vehicle failed to stop for officers in Salford, and was pursued.
A man was arrested following the crash, at the junction of Seymour Grove and Upper Chorlton Road.
No-one was injured during the incident, GMP said.
Road closures remained in place as the vehicle was removed from the road.
Officers running the GMP Traffic Twitter account said: "Vehicle failed to stop for #GMPSRTT in Salford and was pursued, ending in Chorlton with one male arrested. Thankfully no injuries.
"Road closures currently on place on Manchester Road / Upper Chorlton Road whilst the vehicle and traffic are repaired."
