Greater Manchester should expect strong winds and plenty of rain today, due to the arrival of Storm Francis.
The Met Office says that whilst the winds are not 'exceptional', they are unusual for August, and yellow weather warnings for wind and rain have been issued.
It's also going to feel cool, with maximum temperatures of 20 °C.
Forecasters say the rain and wind will continue into the evening, and persist through the first half of the night, but the rain will gradually ease towards dawn.
The conditions are down to a deep area of low pressure crossing the UK, bringing wind gusts of 60 mph and potentially 70 mph in exposed western locations, as well as heavy rain for many.
