This is how Newcastle United fans reacted as Miguel Almiron finally scored his first goal

The wait is finally over for Miguel Almiron after the former record signing grabbed his first goal for Newcastle United .

The Paraguayan international's late strike against Crystal Palace - his first in black and white since joining in January - sealed all three points and lifted the Magpies into the top-half of the table.

Steve Bruce's side had made a promising opening at St James' Park , but the match looked to be drifting towards the goalless conclusion many had predicted before kick-off.

But seven minutes from time, Almiron was in the right place to react to Andy Carroll's knock-down and he was able to guide a difficult finish past Vincente Guaita in front of a jubliant Gallowgate End.

For months, Almiron has endured criticism from pundits for his lack of goals and assists since his transfer from MLS outfit Atlanta United. The 25-year-old has retained the faith of Steve Bruce throughout the season, and has rewarded his head coach for that loyalty.

Here's how jubilant Newcastle United fans reacted on social media as Almiron finally broke his duck in front of goal for the Magpies:

YESSSS!

Everybody say yeah!

End the debate

'Roof has come off'

'Levels'

Howey's verdict

To all the doubters

'Definition of passion'
