A new report released by some of the biggest names in the wedding industry has revealed that UK weddings are the fifth-most expensive in the world.
The 2019 Global Wedding Report, compiled by The Knot, WeddingWire and Bodas.net, analysed survey results from 20,000 couples across 14 countries, and found Brits are spending an average $19,200 (£14,740) on their weddings.
Comparatively, couples in the US spend an average of $29,200 (£22,419), couples in Spain spend $23,400 (£17,970) and couples in Italy spend $22,500 (£17,275).
The figures exclude engagement and wedding rings and honeymoons too, which could easily add another £10,000 to the cost.

Last year, a survey by Hitched.co.uk found the average cost for a wedding in the UK had soared to £32,000, yet this new report could mean Brits are opting for smaller weddings, as it also found that the average guest count for a British wedding is 104.
The 2019 Global Wedding Report also revealed that September is the most popular month for UK couples to get married and that Brits wait the longest out of anyone between getting engaged and getting married – 15 months on average.
