This is how much Swansea City will earn from the EFL, TV and their FA Cup run this season

Graham Potter is just six matches away from completing his debut season with Swansea City.

It's been something of a roller coaster ride for the Swans who have drifted in and out of play-off contention during the course of the campaign while they also enjoyed a memorable run to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

And while the financial rewards currently on offer are somewhat minuscule compared to what they were in the Premier League era, the Swans will still be raking in some valuable funds.

Here's a breakdown of the broadcast fees they will earn, along with the cash they will scoop as a result of their efforts in the Championship and the FA Cup.

TV

The Swans have had eight of their league matches televised so far this term, the most recent of which was the 1-0 loss to league leaders Norwich City at Carrow Road before the international break.

No Swansea matches were selected by Sky Sports in the penultimate round of TV picks, which covers all remaining Championship games with the exception of the final round of fixtures.

And given that Swansea - currently in mid-table - are away to a Blackburn side that look well on course to beat the drop on the final day of the campaign, it's highly unlikely that the meeting between the sides at Ewood Park on May 5 will be screened live on television.

The English Football League pay Championship clubs £100,000 for every home game a team hosts on Sky Sports, with that figure rising to £120,000 for games played on a Sunday and £140,000 for midweek games.

Away teams are awarded £10,000 per match.

It means the Swans will bank £300,000 in TV earnings from league fixtures this term, with six of their eight games that were shown on television being away from home.

Total sum earned: £300,000

FA Cup

The Swans beat Aston Villa, Gillingham and Brentford before eventually being knocked out of the world's oldest football club competition in controversial fashion by Man City.

And as a result of their run to the quarter-finals of this season's competition, the Swans earned a decent amount of money.

They scooped £360,000 in prize money directly from the FA.

And they also collected half of the FA's newly-introduced Divisional Progress fund.

The FA announced earlier this year that each club from the Championship, League One and League Two to progress the furthest in this season's competition will earn £250,000.

Swansea and Millwall were the two Championship sides to make the most progress in the competition, meaning they each claim £125,000.

But they will also scoop additional TV funds as a result of their cup run.

Swansea's first two games in the cup run were at 3pm on a Saturday, meaning they will not receive any broadcast fees for those outings.

However, the Swans' fifth round and quarter-final matches against Brentford and Man City respectively were both televised.

Swansea came from behind to beat the Bees in-front of the BBC cameras in February before suffering a controversial defeat to reigning Premier League champions Man City last month in front of the BT Sport cameras.

They earned £70,000 for having their match with Brentford shown on BBC Wales while they scooped a far heftier broadcast sum of £350,000 for the Man City game which was shown live on BT Sport 2.

Total sum earned: £905,000

Championship

The EFL hands out a basic award and solidarity payment to sides in the Championship.

Each of the 24 clubs in the division will receive a basic award of £2.325m while the solidarity payment (£4.6m) is almost double that total.

There is no merit placing in the Championship meaning these fees are fixed for each team.

However, clubs receiving parachute payments do not receive solidarity payments.

The Swans will have received a parachute payment of approximately £41.6m following last year's relegation, which of course means they will not receive the solidarity payment from the EFL.

Total sum earned: £2.325m

Overall cash sum Swansea City will earn from their FA Cup run, TV and the EFL: £3.53m
