This is how many people watched Nottingham Forest go top of the Championship on Friday

More than half-a-million people tuned in to watch Nottingham Forest climb to the top of the Championship on Friday night.

Sabri Lamouchi’s Reds came from 1-0 down to win 3-2 at Stoke City in front of the television cameras, to heap more pressure on beleaguered Potters boss Nathan Jones.

At its peak, 516,000 people watched the game on Sky Sports Football, according to BARB data obtained by Stoke-on-Trent Live, with 441,000 seeing the game come to an exciting conclusion after the Potters pulled a goal back through James McClean in the final 10 minutes.

The average audience throughout the evening was 298,000 – an overall share of 1.89 percent.

It was Forest’s first win at Stoke since 1994, and their third away win in a row after impressive successes at Fulham and Swansea earlier in the campaign, and they did so backed by a vociferous sold-out away following of almost 3,000 in a crowd of 23,800.

Joe Lolley, Sammy Ameobi and Lewis Grabban were the heroes for Lamouchi’s men, as they reached the summit of the Championship, albeit for a few hours.

Forest dropped to third on Saturday, being replaced by West Brom who won 2-0 at Mark Warburton’s QPR and Swansea, who drew 1-1 with Reading to go second.

The Reds know they could return to the top should they record a fourth successive road trip win at Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday night.
