This is how far Nottingham Forest's players will be travelling during the international break

As the end of the season fast approaches, clubs are looking for any potential advantage they may have over their rivals.

Unfortunately for Nottingham Forest, the international break has just handed the other clubs chasing the play-off places a big one.

The club’s players heading out on international duty are set to travel a massive 19,329 miles between them.

Forest have Pele away with Guinea, Costel Pantilimon with Romania and Tendayi Darikwa with Zimbabwe, while younger players Arvin Appiah, Kieran Hayes and Brennan Johnson are also on their travels.

Only four Championship clubs’ players will be travelling further - Reading’s (27,680 miles), Sheffield Wednesday’s (22,678 miles), Aston Villa’s (21,605 miles) and Stoke’s (20,490 miles).

However, other clubs who are challenging Forest for the play-off spots are set to have more refreshed players after the international break.

Derby’s players will be travelling just 2,659 miles between them.

That’s the fourth lowest total in the Championship and the lowest of any team chasing the playoffs.

West Brom’s players face a combined journey of 3,105 miles, while for Bristol City’s players it’s 3,753 miles.

The distances have been calculated as a round trip from each player’s home ground, to the stadiums where their national team will play and back again.
