'This is exhausting' - Newcastle fans express frustration after latest takeover blow

Newcastle fans have been left extremely frustrated after the club's arbitration case against the failed takeover from a Saudi-backed consortium last summer was adjourned.

The Magpies' takeover hopes were hit by a hammer blow on Monday evening after their arbitration case was pushed back until early 2022.

Both the Magpies and the Premier League agreed to the decision after the initial hope for a resolution this month was delayed due to 'issues with disclosure of evidence'.

A short United statement read: "The parties attended a hearing today in the case between Newcastle United and the Premier League.

"The main hearing of the arbitration has regrettably now been adjourned until early 2022 due to issues with the disclosure of evidence.

"The parties will be making no further comment at this time."

Owner Mike Ashley was believed to have been in court in London this afternoon and the onus is now on the Magpies chief to prepare United for the upcoming Premier League season.

But after yet another takeover blow, supporters were left crestfallen on Monday evening.

Dale Wighton tweeted: "[I'm] sick of this."

While Arran Waite added: "Club in limbo STILL. Absolutely no transparency on the situation. Fans left to suffer as per. Cheers @premierleague, would be nice to hear from you on this other than 'no comment'."

And Adam Pipe continued: "Genuinely don’t think I can continue waiting for #nufc takeover news, absolutely soul destroying."
