This Is England star Andrew Shim facing jail over unpaid drugs fine worth £75,000

Actor Andrew Shim could be hauled back to Spain and jailed over an unpaid £75,000 drugs fine.

In July we revealed that the star, best known as Milky in the film This Is England, had been given the penalty plus a three-year suspended sentence for drug trafficking.

The 38-year-old was allowed back to the UK but warned he would be jailed if he failed to pay the fine, linked to the value of cannabis found in his Mercedes van.

Yesterday it emerged Shim, who struck a deal with prosecutors, has not paid and has offered his seized van instead.

A Spanish legal source said: “He is insisting he doesn’t have the money and has asked for the van to be sold and the proceeds put towards payment.

“The prosecutor has been asked for a report before the judge makes a decision.”

Another insider told the Mirror: “He was warned when he held his hands up to his crime that non-payment would mean jail.

“If the judge agrees to the money from the van being put towards what he owes it’s only going to save him for a bit because there’s no way it’s worth anything like £75,000.”

Shim was held in jail for eight months after being arrested near the southern Spanish city of Granada with 60 kilos of cannabis.

The written sentence issued after he confessed made it clear he would serve a month in prison if he failed to pay his fine.

It was not immediately clear yesterday if the suspension of his jail sentence could be revoked if the money remains unpaid.
