‘This is cringe’: This Trump-as-Superman image means the boomer running White House social media needs to be fired right now

The Trump administration is out-of-touch, but just how out-of-touch is it? A recent post from the official White House account which depicts Donald Trump as Superman is anything but relatable and looks more like something a boomer who has no idea how to appeal to the people of the internet would post.

The image in question takes the artwork from the poster of the latest Superman film featuring David Corenswet, but it replaces David’s face with Trump’s. The result is an embarrassingly lame attempt at making the president look appealing to a growing population of Trump dissenters.

Call me a radical leftist, but I don’t think official government accounts should be idolizing the president in such a weirdly cult-like fashion. It’s giving dictator vibes, but more than that, it’s just plain embarrassing.

Donald Trump’s boomer social media posts make him look worse

Far be it from me to tell someone how to manage their social media accounts but it seems this latest post from The White House hasn’t exactly had the desired effect. Most people on X are mocking the image. One person wrote, “I never thought I’d see the day when the White House is just a joke. This is so embarrassing.” Another channeled their inner Chandler Bing when they asked, “Could you be more embarrassing?”

Others responded with their own rushed photoshops or AI images of Trump as a different kind of superhero.

Others still aren’t letting go of the Epstein files which the Trump administration claimed never existed earlier this week.

Either way, the general consensus is that this is just embarrassing. I mean, let’s not kid ourselves, Donald Trump doesn’t have that Superman physique either, and that’s not to body shame him, it’s just an observation. This is the same as someone photoshopping their face awkwardly over the body of a bodybuilder, it’s just a bit sad.

Any of the younger generations would have been able to tell you that such a post would only receive relentless mockery online. That’s how we can be almost certain it was an uninformed boomer who gave the image the ok. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was Trump himself who wanted to post the picture, after all, he loves being flattered, even when it is blatantly not true.

Living in a fantasy

Donald Trump has made plenty of out-of-touch posts to social media in the past. Earlier this year he posted footage of a B-2 stealth bomber dropping bombs along with an old offensive parody song on Truth Social. He’s like a racist grandpa who doesn’t understand social media and he’s making the rest of the government just like him.

These posts just exemplify the president’s detachment from reality. He’s living in a fantasy where he is powerful and adored by all, (and he is muscular). But that’s just it, the Trump administration is only really good at selling a dream to people, this idea of a perfect president. What we have is so far removed from that it’s laughable and people are laughing. Nobodies buying what Trump’s government is selling anymore and the cracks are starting to show.
