'This is Bristol City's toughest game of the season' - Lee Johnson's verdict on West Brom

While Bristol City's visit to table-topping West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday night may be a daunting prospect, the Robins can take solace from their own good form on the road, and Albion's patchy record at the Hawthorns.

Lee Johnson's side remain the top scorers in the league away from home while the Baggies have drawn four of their eight matches on their own turf so far. Only Luton Town have seen off the Robins at their stadium in nine away games so far.

Although, let's not talk about the fact that Slaven Bilic's team have yet to lose in the Black Country and have only one defeat all season.

Johnson recognises that this will be a tough mission for his seventh-place Robins and at the pre-West Brom press conference he gave his view on the task at hand, despite a 3-2 win over Dwight Gayle and the West Midlands outfit back in April.

"You'd expect a group of players of that quality to be dangerous," said Johnson ahead of Wednesday night's 8pm encounter.

"They've had parachute payments and started off with a good Premier League squad.

"Last year they didn't quite do it but this year with a couple of good additions - with the likes of Sawyers for example - and they look dangerous.

"It's probably going to be our toughest ask of the season.

"Particularly as they're top of the league after a good win [on Saturday]. But we'll go there and we'll be energised and be fresh and look to give a good performance," he added.

The Robins are expected to return club record signing Tomas Kalas to their defence for the trip to the league leaders.

Kasey Palmer is also in contention to start for Bristol City.
