'This is a ram raid!': Bewildered staff amused by 'inquisitive' sheep at the door

Working near countryside certainly has its perks.

It also means you need to be prepared to be disturbed by animals every now and then.

Staff at a small business estate on Bacup Road in Rossendale were greeted by a very nosey sheep on Thursday morning (April 29).

Posting in the local Ramsbottom group on Facebook, Laura Bardsley asked: “Has anyone lost a sheep?”

The post was accompanied by a photo of a sheep - believed to be from the nearby farm - staring at the camera from the entrance of her workplace.

It appears to be a common occurrence.

“The sheep escape the nearby farm on a regular basis,” Laura said.

“The sheep just turned up at our front door and chilled there.

The sheep was later seen making itself comfortable outside the business premises (Laura Bardsley)

“It was barging the door trying to get in.”

Thankfully, a farmer quickly arrived to collect the sheep and all was well in the world again.

Replying to Laura’s post in the Ramsbottom group, one user wrote: ‘This is a ram raid!!!!!!’

Another posted: ‘We need to take him the baaaarbers, he's looking a bit sheepish, lucky he didn't ram you.’

It’s not the only bizarre animal-related story to have made the headlines this week.

On Monday, a cow was spotted running through the car park of a Lidl supermarket in Oldham.
