This huge snake was found in Roath Park in Cardiff

A huge snake was found slithering around a park in Cardiff over the bank holiday weekend.

The red and brown corn snake was found in Roath Park on Saturday and was rescued by park rangers.

On Twitter, Urban Park Rangers shared a video of the reptile, believed to be a lost pet, wrapped around a ranger's hand.

They said: "An unusual visitor to the park today. Lost Corn Snake retrieved from Roath Park. Please DM us if he belongs to you!"

Corn snakes originate from North America but have become popular pets in the UK because they are considered generally docile and easy to care for.

They live for six to eight years in the wile and male corn snakes can grow up to 1.8m.

If the snake belongs to you, you can contact Urban Park Rangers on Twitter .
