This highly functional 'L Combo' unit is transforming the concept of tiny homes for the future

Kingdom Tiny Homes

Tiny home living is increasingly appealing – and unsurprising, considering its affordability, practicality, and unrivaled flexibility. However, in all its benefits, there's no getting around the fact that moving to a tiny home compromises privacy – or at least, it did until now.

Kansas-based company 'Kingdom Tiny Homes' has revolutionized the concept of compact living with a combination of two tiny homes (optionally combined by a deck) named the 'L combo.'

While the L combo is classified as one unit, it has three key features: two separate 'tiny homes' and the decking that adjoins the living spaces – while offering ample room for outdoor entertaining. With this unit, we can enjoy the flexibility of small room living across two spaces – and they can be used for whatever we desire.

'Our L combo offers two tiny homes for the price of one,' the company shared after recently sharing the unit at the Colorado Brighton Tiny Home Festival. Combined, the two homes (the Simplicity and the Master Suite) cost $110,000 – while the decking is another $15,000. Together, it spans nearly 700 square feet of indoor and outdoor living space.

'This setup leaves you with unending possibilities. Compared to buying just one tiny home, this option provides more fun, more privacy, flexibility, safety, and space – all for less money,' the team adds.

The custom-designed deck is the perfect option for those who want to differentiate the two homes as one unit – but it's also an outdoor entertainer's dream: offering room for al-fresco coffees, aperitifs, and dinner.

There's room for a range of outdoor furniture, including a large sofa or table and chairs, if we choose.

So, the L Combo has advantages for those who enjoy outdoor living – but we would say that its most significant benefit comes in the shape of privacy.

Having two rooms in one unit allows people to relax, work, and host and sleep in completely separate spaces – making working from (a tiny) home significantly easier for those who want to enjoy tiny home living.

The first of the homes, named Simplicity, features a two-burner stove top, cooking appliances, a fridge, and a sink. There's also a compact living and working space, a bathroom, and smooth cabinets for discreet storage.

The Master Suite unit, meanwhile, is an equally versatile space that boasts a Pioneer air conditioning system, three operable windows, and a sliding screen door. This space (unsurprisingly) houses the Master Suite –including a Luna Furniture bed that turns from a sofa to a queen-size bed at the press of a button.

The bathroom comes complete with quartz countertops, a large mirror, and more storage above the vanity.

And, one point we can't forget? The entire home comes on wheels, just in case we need reminding of its versatility.
