THE BREAKDOWN
- One owner fit his Renegade with a 5.7L V-8.
- It features Hellcat brakes and a widebody kit.
- Race-inspired interior completes the unique build.
The Jeep Renegade never exactly had a glowing reputation. It was the cheapest and least capable SUV in Jeep’s lineup, so much so that it didn’t even make it past the 2023 model year due to weak demand. Performance was never part of the plan either—but one owner clearly didn’t get the memo.
This particular Renegade has been turned into a full-blown performance monster. It makes over 500 horsepower, wears an aggressive widebody kit, and features a custom, race-inspired interior. And it absolutely rules. The brain behind the build is Instagram user lunchie_b, who decided to push Jeep’s smallest SUV way past anything it was ever meant to be.
The real shocker is under the hood. Instead of the Renegade’s usual underwhelming four-cylinder engine, this thing now packs a 5.7-liter Hemi V8—the same engine you’ll find in the Dodge Challenger, Charger, and Ram 1500.
While the exact output hasn’t been disclosed, the Hemi already makes close to 400 horsepower in stock form. Add a long list of performance upgrades, and it’s easy to believe this Renegade is well north of the 500-hp mark.
Naturally, dropping that much power into a tiny SUV meant the upgrades couldn’t stop at the engine bay. The owner also swapped in the differential and six-piston Brembo brakes from a Hellcat, effectively converting the Renegade to rear-wheel drive. That means muscle-car levels of performance and stopping power—but it also meant extensive structural changes and a ton of custom fabrication to make everything work.
The looks are just as wild as the mechanicals. The Renegade was completely reimagined with a radical widebody kit, massive flared fenders, new bumpers, and a stance that looks more SEMA show car than city-friendly crossover. It even runs the same wheel and tire setup as the Challenger and Charger Hellcat—275/40 R20s up front and 305/35 R20s in the rear.
A lot of the custom parts were made using 3D printing, which allowed the builder to create one-off components perfectly tailored to the project. From structural mounts to fine finishing details, it’s the kind of stuff you simply can’t buy off the shelf.
Inside, the transformation continues. The factory seats are gone, replaced by Sparco racing buckets, and extra gauges have been added to the pillar to keep an eye on engine vitals. The wiring, controls, and even the automatic shifter were borrowed from a Dodge Charger.
There’s no word on how much the build costs, but honestly, that almost doesn’t matter. What does matter is the end result: a Jeep Renegade unlike anything else on the road.
