This Edinburgh establishment has won the best of its kind at The Great British Pub Awards

A community pub in Leith took home Admiral Taverns Pub of the Year at Great British Pub of the Year Awards in London last night after wowing judges with their dedication to the local area their pub calls home.

According to judges, Nauticus is "a newer arrival on the Edinburgh scene, but one with impeccable pedigree, this beautiful pub at the heart of Leith is already making waves on the local and national scene with a listing in the Top 50 Cocktail Bars.

"Drawing on the area’s heritage, this is a bar that has been created with loving care and driven with real dedication."

Other nominees for the category included the Royal Oak in Warwickshire and the Five Bells in Kent.

Sister pub of renowned Edinburgh cocktail bars Panda and Sons and Hoot The Redeemer, Nauticus pays homage to Leith's trading heritage - almost 90% of its cocktail menu is created from Scottish-made or Scottish-owned brands .
