We've featured a wide range of weird and wonderful Edinburgh food and drink since we first launched, but this one really does take the cake. Or deep-fried Mars bar, to be precise.
Fierce Bar on Rose Street is a relatively new addition to Edinburgh's thriving city centre bar scene. It opened in May 2019 as a showcase for Aberdeenshire craft beer company Fierce, and since then it's been a popular hangout spot.
One thing that really sets the pub apart for foodies is their incredible, giant burgers, and they have a very wide range of them on their menu.
You can choose between the 'Fierce Scotsman' (beef burger topped with a haggis fritter and smoked cheese), a 'Smokin' Sanchez' (beef burger smothered in hot sauce with chorizo and Monterery Jack cheese) or - and this is where it gets weird - a dessert burger.
This sugary behemoth is made up of a deep fried Mars bar covered in caramel sauce and raspberry jam inside an iced brioche bun, served with shortbread 'fries'.
It'll set you back £7, which seems fairly reasonable given she sheer quantity of sugar you get for that flat fee.
Writer Sara Sheridan lives nearby and shared a picture of the menu, saying:
"Our local has a new pudding menu and my teeth are hurting just thinking about a 'dessert burger' WHAT?"
One of her followers replied: "In an iced bun WITH shortbread fries? I love Scotland so very much."
