This Dublin restaurant is giving away free 'Honeybee Survival Kits' this weekend

A Dublin restaurant is giving away free “Honeybee Survival Kits” to celebrate National Honeybee Day.

Customers who order takeaway from Nutbutter in Grand Canal Dock will receive a bag of seed balls containing a mix of bee-friendly wildflowers like poppies and buttercups, along with directions for use and a handy set of tips and facts for protecting Irish bees.

The special offer will be available all day on Saturday on the Deliveroo app.

Joe Groves of Deliveroo said, “Bees play a vital role in our eco systems, as well as bringing food to our tables, and as their populations continue to decline, we must take steps to protect them.

“Deliveroo wants to help you help them, so when you’re greeted by one of our riders with delicious food this weekend, you’ll also be given a treat for your local bees.”

A total of 42 species of bees are either threatened or endangered in Ireland and the National Honeybee Day aims to raise awareness on how to protect them.
