Why the Dyson V15 Detect is my all-time favorite vacuum cleaner
Usually, cordless sticks sacrifice suction power for convenience and ease-of-use, but the V15 Detect's 240AW suction is just as strong as the most powerful vacuums out there, if not stronger (my vacuum jargon buster explains AW and why it's important).
I've recommended the Dyson V15 Detect countless times for this reason. It's one of the only cordless sticks that matches the cleaning power of a hefty corded vacuum, meaning that there's no trade-off. You get a lightweight, maneuverable vacuum that cleans flawlessly.
The high performance puts the V15 Detect as our best vacuum for pet hair, too, as it's able to pull fur from thick carpets and hard floors. I tested it in a local cat and dog shelter, and it cleared hair from the toughest surfaces, including a bumpy entrance mat, which most other vacuums struggle to clean.
And this performance is consistent whether you're cleaning fine dust or large debris. In our standardized tests, it cleared every mess in a single pass easily when deep cleaning carpets and hard floors alike.
Its usual high price point isn't just because of its cleaning power. It boasts advanced smart features, including floor sensors to automatically adjust the suction to the right level, and a green 'laser' light that reveals dust that you can't normally see.
