This burst pipe in Salford has been spurting water onto the street 'for more than five hours'

This burst water pipe has been spurting out water onto a busy street in Salford for more than five hours.

A video clip shows the broken main, on Broadway, in Salford Quays, spraying a fountain of water out onto the road on Wednesday morning.

An eyewitness said the water has been leaking for more than five hours.

Despite the large amount of water spraying into the street there appear to be no road closures in the area.

One Twitter user wrote: "It's been at least 5 hours! Apparently, we've got too much clean water here in Manchester!"
