This Bruins-Panthers fight was brutally one-sided

Defenseman MacKenzie Weegar probably wanted to create momentum for the Florida Panthers, who were down three goals to the Boston Bruins in the second period on Saturday.

It was a nice thought, but Bruins defenseman Noel Acciari got in the way of Weegar’s execution.

Weegar and Acciari dropped gloves off the face-off. Acciari proceeded to hammer Weegar with left hooks, dislodging the Panthers defenseman’s helmet and throwing 14 or 15 punches, which went practically uncontested.

The Bruins won, 7-3. The fight felt like an even bigger blowout.

These two enforcers squared off last season, too, in March 2018. Acciari also seemed to finish that fight on top.
