This Boots beauty box includes a full skincare routine – and saves you more than £200

As we settle into summer and all manner of plans – from outdoor gatherings to holidays abroad – fill out calendars, a whole new swathe of beauty essentials are needed. We’ve retired the heavy duty lip balms in favour of skin-protecting sunscreens and all things glowy. Of course, gathering these seasonal favourites can cost a pretty penny, so when a dedicated summer beauty bundle rolls around, you have to strike while the iron is hot.

For summer 2026, the Boots SPF and skin beauty box offers 12 products worth £261.79, but you can buy it for just £49 with free delivery. Not only is this a saving of more than £200, but it’s a one-stop shop for everything your skin will need, be it for a trip to the tropics or another sweltering British heatwave.

Having unboxed a number of Boots beauty hauls (such as its K-beauty bundle) I had high hopes for the retailer’s warm-weather skin kit. But is it truly worth it? I dove into the contents to find out – here’s my verdict.

Boots SPF and skin beauty box

Rating: 4.5/5

Number of products: 12 (nine full-sizes)

Vegan and cruelty-free: Not entirely – Lancaster, Elemis, Round Lab and Shiseido are neither, Beauty of Joseon dynasty cream is cruelty-free but not vegan

Full worth: £261.79

Why we love it

  • Full summer skincare routine, from cleanser to SPF
  • Mix of trending brands – e.g. Round Lab – and cult classics, like Elemis
  • Thoughtful size selection for weekend breaks, daily use and on-the-go application

Take note

  • 5ml Lancaster serum is too small to be useful

With nine out of the included 12 products in the Boots SPF and skin beauty box being full-sizes, I went into testing rather optimistic. Admittedly, the Lancaster anti-wrinkle, pigmentation-tackling SPF is a little bit redundant at 5ml but even without it, the £49 value of the remaining 11 items feels worth it.

In recent years, the Boots buying team has mastered the product selection process. This SPF and skin bundle is no exception, and I was particularly excited to get stuck in with the Ole Henriksen daily D-clog pore-clearing salicylic acid cleanser, given the brand’s ever-gaining popularity. Likewise, the Grown Alchemist gentle gel cleanser piqued my interest beyond the aesthetic packaging and, of course, anything from Elemis’ pro-collagen range is worthy of a little commotion. Much like the bestselling pro-collagen cleanser, this SPF 50 features padina pavonica, which is a marine algae that helps to minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Pairing this ingredient with SPF is a winning formula to somewhat reverse existing damage. Even better, the formula feels silky and lightweight on the skin, and it wore well under a full face of make-up from dawn ‘til dusk.

I’ve long been a fan of Rituals body care, and the brand’s sun protection milky spray features the same spa-like scent as its wider product range. The spray dispenser is more of a jet (as pictured above) than a light aerosol, but I often find aerosols fail to effectively cover every patch on skin, so there’s always a silver lining.

For me, the Bloom and Blossom and Skin + Me inclusions are nice, but not ground breaking. Admittedly, I’m not someone to split hairs when picking up an after sun (this is likely how I’ll be integrating the B+B body moisturiser into my routine), so I was pleased to upgrade my usual £4 bottle from the supermarket. On the other hand, I’m more particular about my SPF moisturisers, and Skin + Me’s offering doesn’t feature enough skincare benefits for my liking. Then again, the daily dose dispenser is handy and I can appreciate how anyone with sensitive skin trying not to overcomplicate their routine would appreciate it.

Skincare fanatics will likely be most excited about the K- and J-beauty selection – and rightfully so. While the Beauty of Joseon dynasty cream has impressed me time and again with its ability to nourish dry patches overnight, the Shiseido SPF 50+ (with water resistance) makes up almost half of your £49 spend on its own. As for the Round Labs birch juice sunscreen, it’s creamy without skewing heavy and left zero whitecast on my face despite my generous application.

I’m a Lumene CC cream mega fan, so I was keen to get stuck in with the brand’s brightening eye cream. It didn’t wow me quite like the CC cream (not much can), but it’s a lovely, hydrating formula that gave my tired morning eye bags a serious jolt at 6am. Along the same vein, the First Aid Beauty bronzing drops aren’t quite as smoothing as my go-to formula from Drunk Elephant; however, I was able to achieve the same sun-kissed glow by mixing two dots into the Beauty of Joseon dynasty cream.

All in all, consider this your affordable fast track to dewy, radiant skin.

Is the Boots SPF and skin summer beauty box worth it?

Without question. Worth more than £260 but costing just £49, this is one of Boots's strongest beauty box offerings to date. I felt that the mix of premium SPF, Korean skincare favourites and everyday essentials skewed more carefully curated than padded out with filler, and the nine full-size products made the value all the more impressive. Whether you're refreshing your summer skincare routine or discovering new brands for less, I wouldn’t hesitate to pick this up – the products, on the whole, won me over as much as the deal did on paper.

How I tested

Some of the products in the Boots SPF and skin beauty box were already long-standing favourites in my skincare routine, while others were completely new to me. For those unfamiliar formulas, I tested them over the course of a full day beneath my usual make-up, paying close attention to how they felt, wore and layered alongside the rest of my routine.

Why you can trust IndyBest reviews

As a senior shopping writer for IndyBest, Lucy Smith has reviewed all manner of summer skin staples, from the best body sunscreens to the best SPF moisturisers. She’s also penned a guide to the best Korean skincare products, so she’s up on the category’s core brands, including Beauty of Joseon, which are featured in the Boots box. Plus, as someone who tests beauty products for a living and tracks big sales events such as Black Friday and Amazon Prime Day, she’s well aware of a falsely inflated discount and won’t let you be led astray by sly marketing.
