This £130k Audi sports car crashed in Stretford - then the driver fled the scene

The driver of a sports car worth more than £134,000 fled the scene after smashing it into street furniture in Stretford.

The white Audi R8 Spyder lost control and veered off the road last night.

Police officers at the scene photographed the damage.

The pricey vehicle was left with the front passenger side completely smashed in, with further damage to the front and rear wheels.

The car had smashed into a road sign for Northumberland Road in Stretford - a quiet residential B road.

In a tweet last night, GMP Traffic said: "Single vehicle RTA in Stretford. This Audi R8 Spyder collided with several items of street furniture after losing control and veering off the road.

"Surprisingly, the driver didn't stick around, vehicle recovered for a forensic exam."
