This 1 versatile cleaning tool has transformed my kitchen and bathroom cleaning – it’s a total gamechanger for quick and effortless cleaning

Large kitchen with bi-fold windows and island. It's bright, open and has triple aspect windows showing the home's elevation with trees all around.

I love scrubbing my house clean, but there is one thing getting in the way of that. My health.

With chronic pain and weakness in my wrists and grip during flares, the HOTO electric spin scrubber, available from Amazon, has become my favorite and most essential cleaning tool, saving me time and physical effort whilst also bringing the best cleaning results I've seen.

It's now a key part of my cleaning routine in the kitchen, bathroom, and beyond.

Why I love using an electric scrubber

In the same way an electric toothbrush saves you time, effort, and cleans better than a manual one, the same applies to an electric scrubbing brush, making it an essential cleaning tip, in my view.

This one comes with nine heads for different surfaces, and is ergonomic and comfortable to hold and use. Even with my wrist and joint issues (I have a genetic connective tissue disorder), it doesn’t cause pain or send painful vibrations up my arm, which has been a problem for me in the past.

Since getting this one, I've used to it to blast tea and coffee stains from my stainless steel sink, clean the grout in my shower, and get rid of hard water stains in my bathroom, especially in my shower, as well as scrubbing pots and pans I usually leave for my husband and his brute strength force.

The speed the HOTO spins (300 rotations per minute) also cuts down the amount of time I have to spend scrubbing or contorting into an awkward position for a thorough clean. It's also not so fast that it can damage surfaces, making it perfect for use on multiple types.

If you suffer pain, fatigue, or chronic illness like me, having tools like the HOTO, available from Amazon, that make things quicker and easier is an essential part of successful adaptive pacing when cleaning.

I’ve used it when cleaning my home with baking soda, dish soap, and harsher commercial cleaning products without any issue across any of its heads. I particularly like the stiff bristle brush head, which has, over months of use, been indestructible.

What to shop

I’m still a big fan of manual crevice scrubbing brushes for awkward, slim gaps and corners, but the biggest change I've made in my home cleaning is using my DIY essential oil cleaning spray across my home as a versatile and non-toxic cleaning spray.

It works on glass, mirrors, kitchen countertops, door handles, stainless steel, and so much more, helping make my home less toxic.
