A third teenage boy has been charged with murder over his alleged role in a fatal stabbing at a suburban park.

The 17-year-old victim died from a knife wound to his thigh after a confrontation at a park behind a school in northwest Sydney in November.

He was treated by paramedics but died at the scene in Rouse Hill.

A 15-year-old boy accused of inflicting the fatal wound and a second boy, also 15, were both charged over the alleged attack. They have faced a children's court and remain in custody.

The third teen, arrested at his home on Tuesday, was refused bail.

In a police affidavit, officers allege the first teen arrested set upon the victim in an unprovoked attack and stabbed him in the groin area.

The court also heard the boy was captured on police body-worn camera footage telling an officer "I stabbed another boy in the leg".

The death has rocked the community with several friends of the slain teenager leaving moving tributes on social media.
