Police Scotland have said that enquiries are ongoing after a robbery at a tanning salon on Main Street in Davidson Mains.

Terrified staff at the IndigoSun outlet in Davidson's Mains were accosted by a man carrying a weapon, who then sped off on a BMX with a three-figure sum of cash from the till.

Police were notified of the incident shortly after 11:40am on Wednesday September 1 and had launched an appeal for information.

This is the third robbery of a tanning salon since August 27.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a robbery at premises on Main Street in Davidson Mains, Edinburgh around 5.05pm on Sunday, 5 September.

“Nobody was injured. Enquiries are ongoing and at an early stage.”
