Third person charged with looting Batemans Bay store

South Coast police have charged a third person for alleged looting of Batemans Bay businesses during the bushfire crisis.

Police say a 26-year-old man was arrested on January 11 and taken to Batemans Bay Police Station where he was charged with the "serious indictable offence" of receiving stolen property.

Following further inquiries, police on Wednesday charged the man with larceny and entering a premises to commit indictable offence.

He was refused bail to appear at Batemans Bay Local Court on February 10.

Police said officers stopped a Mazda 6 sedan on George Bass Drive, Batemans Bay on January 11.

Police allegedly located and seized mobile phones during a search of the vehicle.

Police will allege in court that the phones had been stolen from a fire-damaged business in Batemans Bay on January 8.

The 26-year-old man, who was the front passenger, was arrested at the scene.

Meanwhile, a 31-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man have pleaded guilty to multiple charges relating to the looting of Batemans Bay Betta Home Living and remain before the courts.

NSW Police said it was providing a high-visibility presence to deter criminal activity throughout the current bushfire emergency and assist other emergency services to ensure bushfire-affected areas are safe for the community to return as quickly as possible.

Local police numbers have been bolstered by officers from specialist commands to conduct regular patrols throughout bushfire-affected areas.
