Bristol neighbourhoods ranked by those who live there

More than a third of Bristolians say their neighbourhood has declined in the last five years.

That is according to an ongoing survey Bristol Live is conducting, asking people what they think of where they live.

Of the 328 who have so far answered the survey below, 133 people (40 per cent) gave a worse score when rating their neighbourhood then they would have five years previous.

Only 57 people, or 17 per cent of respondents, said their neighbourhood had improved in the last five years.

Have your say. How do you rate where you live? And is it getting better or worse?

Views have been taken from across Bristol and outlying areas, from Weston-Super-Mare to Totterdown and onto South Gloucestershire.

When asked what were the positive elements of where they live were, 20 per cent of people said their neighbours improved the area, while 30 per cent said the access to open spaces and parks was a a positive factor.

But in terms of what people wanted to see improved where they lived, traffic (25 per cent), street cleanliness (20 per cent) and problems with crime or anti-social behaviour(19 per cent) were common issues raised.

Perhaps a positive element revealed by this survey has highlighted that 143 people, or 43 per cent of those answering, rated their neighbourhood the same as they would have rated it five years ago.

Out of a total score of seven, the largest proportion of people (23 per cent) scored where they lived as a five, with scores of 6 and 7 also gaining a fifth of votes. Scores of 1 or 2 only made up 12 per cent of the total votes cast.

We hope to get a fuller understanding of what people think of where they live and what they would like to see improved. Please fill in the survey above or by clicking here
