Third man charged with murder over Canberra doorstep death

Mr Allan died in front of a neighbour's house in December.

Another man has been charged over the murder of Canberra man Bobby Stuart Allan, the third person to face court over the killing.

Mr Allan, 48, was found on a neighbour's doorstep in the suburb of Rivett in December 2017, and police say he was likely seeking help for injuries sustained during an assault.

Today 46-year-old Graeme Vickerstaff — of Narrabundah — was charged in the ACT Magistrates Court and did not apply for bail.

It followed Colin Maxwell Booth, 33, and Dean Phillip Welsh, 49, also appearing before the court over their alleged involvement.

Both pleaded not guilty to the charges and have been remanded in custody.

ACT Policing said today's charge was "a significant milestone" in the case.

No other arrests expected

ACT Policing's head of criminal investigations Scott Moller said while investigations were ongoing, no further arrests were anticipated at this time.

Detective Superintendent Moller said information from the public had greatly assisted in the "incredibly complex" case.

"I'd like to urge anyone who has further information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000," he said.

"In particular I'd appeal to any witnesses who have previously been reluctant to come forward, to reconsider — acknowledging the events of this investigation today."

Detective Superintendent Moller said he hoped the latest arrest would bring Mr Allan's family some comfort.

"They've lived through an absolutely horrific incident and I just hope police can contribute during their healing process," he said.

Vickerstaff is due to join his co-accused back in court on July 9.
