Third KFC restaurant reopens in Bristol - and it includes a drive-thru

A KFC restaurant at Cribbs Causeway has become the latest restaurant in Bristol to reopen during the coronavirus pandemic.

The chicken fast food chain has reopened restaurants across the the country and is now offering contactless delivery to protect both staff and customers.

It opened more than 100 stores by Monday (May 4), including in Avonmeads and Filton. And now it has revealed another restaurant has opened, this one at Cribbs Causeway.

It is open for deliveries and drive-thru orders.

In a statement, a spokesperson for The Mall At Cribbs Causeway said: "KFC has now reopened at The Venue, for drive-thru orders and deliveries only.

"They will be open daily from 12pm - 9pm, serving a limited menu to help the reduced kitchen team maintain social distancing."

The reopening of the drive-thru at the Shield Retail Park branch in Filton caused massive queues yesterday, forcing KFC to urge customers to order online if they can.

This was despite pictures emerging of delivery riders ignoring social distancing measures at the Filton restaurant last weekend.

Pictures sent to Bristol Live revealed delivery drivers not keeping two metres away from one another while waiting to pick up orders.

KFC said it was looking into what's happened at the branch and will remind drivers of the new guidelines.
