Third funeral for teenager killed in crash

Mourners have said farewell to 15-year-old Gabby McLennan, one of the five teenagers killed in a crash south of Sydney.

In the third of five funerals for the teenage victims, Gabby's friends and family gathered at Leppington in Sydney's southwest on Saturday.

They wore wear sky blue, the favourite colour of the Picton High School student and local soccer player.

Gabby died with school friends Summer Williams, 14, Antonio Desisto, 16, Lily Van De Putte, 14, and Tyrese Bechard, 15, when the ute they were in flipped and crashed into two trees on September 6 in Picton.

Tyrese and Lily have been farewelled at funerals over the past two days.

On Friday, hundreds of mourners gathered at St Anthony's Catholic Church in the hamlet of Tahmoor for Lily's funeral.

Lily's father John Van De Putte spoke of her kind nature, including taking blankets from home to give to those less fortunate, giving food to the needy and even helping a little boy with no money on Father's Day to buy a gift for his dad.

"Not only was she beautiful, she had a beautiful heart," he said.

Mr Van De Putte, who addressed mourners from a wheelchair, also recalled his daughter's wicked sense of humour, remembering when Lily put his chair in neutral so he couldn't go anywhere.

The crash has devastated the community in the Wollondilly shire, southwest of Sydney.

Face-to-face learning at Picton High School has been replaced with online classes until Monday so students can attend the funerals.

The victims are being remembered with balloon and streamer tributes in the area, with a different colour dedicated to each teenager.

A mayoral relief fund has also been established to offer financial support to the victims' families.

The ute's driver Tyrell Edwards, 18, is in custody after facing court last Thursday on five counts of dangerous driving occasioning death.
