Things to do in Dublin: Experimental circus show is coming to the capital and we're intrigued

A new experimental circus production focusing on the themes of civilisation and nature is coming to Dublin and we’re intrigued.

Created by artist and aerialist Emily Aoibheann, Mother of Pearl is set to evoke pantheistic and pagan ritual through playful performative gestures.

The show, which will take place from November 6 to 9 at the Project Arts Centre, will see bodies perform exceptional but abnormal gestures of human beauty and skill.

The music for the show was created by Emily from 2008 to early 2009 which has been adapted and developed for live performance.

It will illustrate a phenomenon which Emily refers to as ‘bedroom music’, that is, music privately played by post-riot-grrrl musicians in Dublin at that time.

The show will explore themes of civilisation and nature like part one of this twin production Sorry Gold, which was performed at the 25th Dublin Fringe Festival.
